Frequently Asked Questions
Does this change my website automatically?
No. You copy the tag into your page or CMS.
Can I use relative URLs?
Absolute URLs are recommended.
When you need a canonical tag
A canonical tag tells search engines which version of a page is the main one when similar content is reachable at several addresses, for example with tracking parameters or with and without a trailing slash.
Use one absolute address with the protocol, and point each page to itself unless it is truly a duplicate of another page. Place the tag inside the head of the page.
