Fixing and formatting JSON
Paste your data and choose Format to indent it for reading, or Minify to remove whitespace for production. If the tool reports an error, the usual causes are a trailing comma after the last item, single quotes instead of double quotes, keys without quotes, comments (JSON does not allow them) and unescaped quote characters inside strings.
Formatting does not change the data, only its layout, so it is safe to use on API responses and configuration files. Use the minified output when size matters, such as embedding data in a page.
Limits: very large files (tens of megabytes) may be slow in a browser tab. The tool validates syntax, not whether the data matches a particular schema. Your JSON is processed locally and not stored.
