Small tools for small jobs. The QR code generator is the most popular: type a link, text, Wi-Fi details or contact information and download a code you can print or add to a document.
Making QR codes that scan. Keep the content short, because a shorter link produces a simpler code that scans faster. Use dark modules on a light background with a clear empty margin around the code. Print it large enough (at least about 2 cm square for close scanning) and test it with more than one phone before printing a batch.
Use links you control. A QR code is just a picture of the text inside it. If it points to a page you later change or delete, the printed code breaks. For printed material, link to a stable address on your own domain.
Be careful scanning. Only scan codes from sources you trust, and check the address before you enter any login or payment details.
