Working with HEX, RGB and HSL
HEX and RGB describe the same colour in different notation, while HSL describes hue, saturation and lightness, which is easier to adjust by hand. To make a colour lighter or darker, change only the lightness in HSL.
Always check text and background pairs with the contrast checker before publishing, because a colour that looks fine on your screen can be hard to read for others.
